just let it go

"There have been countless moments in my life when I felt weak and hopeless. Every little problem had turned into a huge one and everything seemed to be so meaningless. What has suprised me is the moment you stop worrying problems find themselves a solution. So we just have to try to let go and find the way out of our continuous worrying."

an Italian man

"The best way to learn a foreign language is to visit a foreign country. I am an Italian man, so I just took my car, my little dictionary and travelled around England for 2 weeks - that's how I learned English."

In addition, his wife asked me about where I was going to put this photograph and I started explaining but the man interrupted me: "Leave it. I don't fly in Internet."

an exchange student

When I approached her, it came out she is an exchange student from United States who has been in Estonia only for 2 weeks.

"Have you already experienced something funny here in Estonia?"
"The time I misspelled June as the Estonian word for poops is probably quite high up there on the list."

Brittany's passion is writing and when I asked her what inspires her the most, she answered:
"Music, books, people all inspire me when I write! I tend to write stories around thoughts and ideas that I have in passing through and then construct the world in order to get my point across. Things and experiences that happen to me as well, inspire me."

about Estonians

"We are you from?"
" From Nigeria and Ethiopia."
"What do you think about Estonians?"
"You guys are absolutely not cold and antisocial as you all say. Estonians are actually very friendly!"

Lester

I was walking with my friend on the streets in London and we decided to go to the cinema. We didn't know exactly where the cinemas are located but luckily we met this guy Lester who was very helpful and showed us to the nearest cinemas. In the end he decided to join us. Later on, he took us to many other unusual parts of London and we became very good friends. I was simply amazed by his kindness.
An interesting fact about Lester is that he knows many languages which are Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and also a little Italian, Spanish, French and Malay.

England

I have travelled a lot this summer and I must admit that England has been my favourite destination. I visited many cities but I definitely left my heart in London. London is full of diverse individuals, the streets are crowded and you always bump into someone. London is certainly the place where every single person can be whatever he or she wants to be and still fit in. I felt that London values diversity and respect towards any kind of individual. I truly hope I can soon return to this extraordinary city.

Tenerife

Lately I have been travelling a lot. As you know I was in England and afterwards in Tenerife. I hoped to be back blogging last week but I had unexpected change of plans. Now I am travelling across Europe and that is why I have to postpone blogging once again.
I will share with you some photos I took during my holidays in Tenerife and UK. I know it's not about people but I thought it would be nice to show you these incredible places.

Ps. This post is only about Tenerife. Later I will show you some photos of England.

In Tenerife I hadn't a chance to meet local people because it's mainly tourist area. Altough the ones I met were really lovely and hospitable.

I hope you will enjoy these photos.

Tartoo-Tattoo

I spotted a man with eye-catching tattoos. I was with a friend and we started talking to him. He works at Tartoo-Tattoo. He said he has had many weird people approaching him with bizarre tattoo requests.
"Once a man wanted to admit and express his love to a woman by tattooing her name on his butt. And now I wonder if the girl was impressed and it really worked or not."

Ps. He didn't want to be on the picture alone, so he called my friend Anna to join him.
If you are interested in having some new tattoos check out here!

"We are going to take care of this city."

Ps. These children were so happy that I took their picture and they gave me afterwards even candies :).

It's 1st June - International Chlidren's Day. Today the town was full of little and happy faces, soon you will see more photos of adorable kids.

kids spotted

In Estonia we have "tutipäev" - it is a day before the exams start and all the school-leavers (9th or 12th graders) dress up like kids and have a lot of fun!
Here are two guys I spotted on the street.

Japanese and Estonian

SI: "Where are you from?"

The girl: "From Japan, we study at the university of Tartu."
SI: "What is the biggest difference between Japan and Estonia?"
The girl: "Estonians tend to drink a lot.."
SI: "So are you both from the same city?"
The boy: "Actually - I'm Estonian."
SI: "No waaay.. you don't look like one."
The boy: "Ausalt, ma olen eestlane."
